Diverse Consulting Services

Rely on Hydrophase for thorough, detailed service on every environmental project. We work closely with our customers to help them achieve their goals.

Groundwater Resources

A thorough investigation and understanding of each site's geology and groundwater is crucial before proceeding to the field exploration, aquifer analysis, or modeling phase of a project. The final reports are written to guide clients in future decision-making, while also assisting in regulatory approval, where required. We have conducted water-resource investigations for both sand and gravel and bedrock aquifers. Finding sufficient groundwater in rock formations involves more extensive research and analysis of aerial photographs.

These projects include pump tests and data analysis to interpret aquifer properties and sustainable yields. Computer modeling has been used to determine wellhead protection areas, and other purposes such as capture zones for groundwater remediation systems, infiltration to trench systems, and estimating landfill leachate flow. We have also monitored for groundwater under the direct influence of surface water (GWUDI).

Environmental Compliance

Environmental Compliance

Projects at sites where chemicals have been released require diverse tasks. These range from initial site visits to corrective action, including site inspections, test drilling and sampling, database review, risk assessment, investigative reports, permeability tests, remedial planning and site cleanup. Throughout the process, we work closely with our customers and regulatory agencies to keep them appraised as the project progresses.

Our owner has over 25 years of investigative experience at sites impacted by petroleum products and other chemicals. Hydrophase, Inc. has worked with public water suppliers to prepare wellhead protection plans to comply with state regulations, and also Vulnerability Assessments and Emergency Response Plans to comply with the Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002.

Due Diligence

Phase I Environmental Site Assessments provides protection for buyers of commercial properties through the "innocent landowners' defense", and the "bona-fide prospective purchaser liability protection." Environmental Impact Statements and/or NEPAs are required for some construction projects, particularly where they are government-funded.

Technical Reviews & Support

We have provided advice on groundwater and environmental questions to engineering companies and other clients in situations where such expertise is not available on staff. This often involves researching the risk posed to drinking water by land use (proposed or future developments that would involve the presence of potential contaminants on-site). Soil and water field sampling have also been conducted.
